Farah Afzal is a PhD candidate in global governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research on transgender rights, digital media, and institutional reform in South Asia examines how marginalized advocacy networks negotiate legal and social protections in postcolonial states. Her forthcoming book analyzes how these localized groups strategically utilize digital platforms and transnational networks to drive domestic administrative and legal reforms.
